The first stack of shelves are in position. The pack is slightly more open at the floor level and progresssivly tighter higher up, this helps to evenly distribute the heat through the work. The large platters are placed on wedge shaped setters with scallop shells and waddding. The centres of the platters are supported in this firing to minimise pyroplastic movement, and encourage vertical movement of the glaze. | |||||||||
