Fuel: Pine and slab hard wood Conditions: Unsettled low pressure Thursday 9.00am Small fire in lower fire mouth 4pm Stoking moved to upper firemouth 9pm Pyro 500 10pm Cone 06 front bottom. Passive dampers taken out. 10.30 Cone 06 front top Midnight Pyro 700 Friday Firing on damp wood over night 1am Cone 3 down front bottom 2.20am Cone 3 down front top 2.50am Pyro 800 5.00am Cone 6 ½ down front. Flame in chimney. Pyro 900 5.30am Cone 6 down
front. 9.15 am Cone 8 down Front bottom 9.45 am Cone 8 down Front top Start firing on dry seasoned fuel. Mixing both hardwood and soft. 11.00 am Lower fire mouth opened ( 2 bricks on edge). Filled with hard wood into coals, fast stoking pine on top through upper fire mouth. 12.30 Cone 11 ½ 0ver front. 6 ½ over back top, bending back bottom 7pm Cone 12 flat both fronts. Cone 11 flat top back half over back bottom. Close up lower fire mouth totally. ½ bricks in under grates', passives and flame viewing open. Ticking over night. Saturday 1am Open up lower fire mouth and fill with hard wood. Quick stoke soft wood for 2 hours 3 am Close kiln back up, stoking mainly pine. 8am Open kiln back up fast stoking pine to move back cones more Midday Cone 12 over top back, ½ down bottom back. Under grate air sealed, side stokes sealed, lower fire mouth sealed. Fire box filled with pine and upper fire mouth sealed. Allowed to burn down then chimney capped. Flame view brick removed to release kiln pressure then sealed. 51 hrs |
